I havn't used the Riot Shied on MW3 yet, I will tonight. I don't really think they are an unfair weapon, it's quite easy to kill riot shielders.

Riot Shields
Are awesome. No doubt about it. But how come people see it as an unfair weapon? Its really hard to get the hang of it, and it's still littered with bugs. Some guy knifed me through a wall AND the riot shield once. But I'm gonna recap a d
story. In team deathmatch on lockdown, we were losing with 30 seconds left, 3 on 4, I was pretty much abandoned by my god awful team, and they had an escort airdrop give them juggernaut. 2 guys moved into the middle building with the juggernaut, I killed one with a throwing knife. He dropped martyrdom. I threw it back down the stairs killing the other guy and wounding the juggernaut. We both had riot shields. I beat him down, securing first. Then two other guys came in but I blocked their bullets long enough for the time to run out..
Anywho, I really like the riot shield, not because I can'tshoot. My KDR was actually much higher before I started using the riot shield.

Only used one once (Recon Juggernaut of all things), walked into the little store on Resistance...had their snipers backed up into a corner in a panic to get out.
I wouldn't say their unfair or overbalanced, at any sort of distance all someone has to do is outflank you and you're done. It also appears that repeated automatic weapons fire can be effective against a shield...then there's Semtex.This is the AK-47 Assault Rifle, the preferred weapon of the enemy and it makes a distinctive sound when fired at you, so remember it!

Semtex can actually be overriden even after being stuck (to the shield not you)
When you use equipment, the shield dis appears, so throwing a knife at the right time can save your life.
And while I find it easy to kill a riot shielder, other players have trouble against me. I have the sensitivity on 10 so I can be focused on them if they're alone. With an assault rifle, it's better to keep shooting while sidestepping them so they don't see you, but I usually back up or charge them down which saves my life. Heres one good tip though. If you sprint at the side of the shielder, you just float past him and can turn and knife him.
And the recon juggernaut is pathetic. I can easily kill them if they are alone. The same goes for regular juggernauts.Last edited by WPCatfish; 12-14-2011 at 11:29 AM.

Alone is the trick...anyone alone is easy pickings...not that I'd complain if 5 guys come through a doorway one at a time to get picked off!

If I saw my buddy run around a corner, then get shot, then I saw my NEXT buddy run around the same corner and get SHOT, I wouldnt run around the same corner!

Tried this out for a couple matches yesterday (one of the Dailies was 5 Riot Shield Kills). Took some getting used to, but managed 4 kills halfway through the second match (got one on the first match). Nice piece of equipment to blockade a hallway with (Fallen Map).
On the flip side, in the Village I was faced at fairly longish range by three guys with shields deployed. They all made the mistake of trying to turn a corner while I was shooting though. Two of them got caught in the flank, the third one TURNED AROUND and tried to 'run away.' Riot Shields are great to run with the Support Killstreak setup and taking the brunt of the bullets from enemies and then having teammates take them out or switch to a secondary. It's pretty fun once you get the hang of it. Anyone have any cool classes that add to the fun?
